Monday 4/22 Your Hitler Youth Activity is due tomorrow. (See GoogleClassroom to review the documentary, if you'd like). Remember, if you know it, show it. Show off what you have learned about the Holocaust, so far, as it connects to the documentary, Confessions of a Hitler Youth. (Think of this as a take-home test).
Tuesday 4/23- Friday 4/26 The remainder of the week, we will be working on the District Writing Assessment. You may review the basic argumentative essay structure on GoogleClassroom. During this week, perhaps a) work on the ABC Holocaust/Tolerance Collage--extra credit due May 10th, and b) consider if you can go to the Greek Myths play at JHBS May 10, 11, or 12 for extra credit. This are the basic directions that I copied from Google Classroom.
1) Log in to your electronic textbook. (see below or on the whiteboard). Be sure you are on Collections grade 8. Click on the yellow Student ebook
2) Begin reading "The Monkey's Paw" that begins on page __105____ The goal is to read Part I on Monday; Part II on Tuesday; Finish Part II on Wednesday; Do/finish Part III on Thursday
3) As you get to the bottom of each page, use the ANNOTATION GUIDE. (The Annotation guide is below OR in your Workbook p. D-14a). You will do # 1, 2, and 3 for EACH page. HIGHLIGHT #1 BLUE, and write your question in the "Add a Note" section. HIGHLIGHT #2 YELLOW, and write the "connection" in the "Add a Note" section. HIGHLIGHT #2 PURBLE, and write a brief description in the "Add a Note" section. Repeat highlighting on each page.
4) As you read do the "Analyze the Text" (See below or on Workbook p. D-14a BUT, be sure to answer the questions ONLINE in your ebook on p. 118). You will probably only get through questions # 1,2, 3 (Part I) / #4 (Part II)/ #5.6.7 (Part III)
